Georgios Pappas is an expert and published author in AR/VR using Unity and an alumnus from the MIT IoT Bootcamp (2017). He holds a joint BSc-MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens and he is also a PhD candidate at the same department. He is actively collaborating with MIT and Michigan State University for research projects on Virtual Environments (AR/VR/Gamification). He is also a member of the Lab of Educational Material and Methodology of Open University of Cyprus (OUC), where he specializes in applying immersive technologies in Distance Learning. In the past, he had also received a scholarship at Berklee College of Music for his music composition skills.
Beside academia, he has industry level experience since he was a member of the team and co-founder of the company that developed the first real-time strategy PC game in Greece (2008) which became a best-seller title. In 2016, he was one of the key-organizers and speaker at the first Cyprus Game Exhibition Event held in Microsoft Innovation Center in Nicosia.
Before joining OUC, he had also collaborated extensively with Cisco and developed an API Integration software that is currently used by the largest IT company in Cyprus and its Group companies across many countries in Europe and Middle East.
