Ana Luisa Santos is an MIT Media Lab alumna dedicated to empowering youth via education technology. She co-founded an edtech startup and launched operations in Brazil of 2 Silicon Valley ventures. She is currently the Senior Market Manager, Brazil at Khan Academy, responsible for partnerships, funder stewardship, operations and digital marketing strategy, aiming to offer amazing free education resources to teachers and students all over Brazil. Previously she was employee #3 at Udacity in Brazil, playing a key role in setting up its operations in the country by establishing hiring partnerships with 25 top-notch Brazilian companies, hiring, leading corporate sales, kicking off its digital marketing, supporting PR and local product development. Earlier she co-founded MobGeek, a Brazilian e-learning platform focused on teaching programming with the goal to empower youth to launch their business ideas or accelerating their careers in tech. MobGeek was funded by ACE, Brazil’s top startup accelerator, Startup Brazil government program and angel investors.

Ana has played multiple volunteer roles in nonprofit organizations focused on technology and empowerment. She is currently a Fiscal Board Member at Institute for Technology & Society of Rio de Janeiro (ITS Rio). Previously she was an IEEE volunteer for 14 years, playing roles as leading a student branch, organizing national and LatAm student conferences, serving on several committees to support its Board of Directors. She also launched the Awesome Foundation Rio chapter and led it for 4 years.

Ana was a top-10 finalist of Inspiring Youth (Jovens Inspiradores) Award by Estudar Foundation among 16k applicants and she is part of Talents in Education Leadership Network by Lemann Foundation.

She graduated with a Media Technology MS (MIT Media Lab), an Electrical Engineering MSc (COPPE – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), in addition to Electronics and Industrial Engineering Bsc (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro).
